Aurra Sing was also well done and filled the role of villain quite well. The cover, the title, the blurb on the back of the book, all connote the feel of a Dick Tracy novel. Every chapter ends with some bodyguard attacking Jax, or a droid in a marketplace shooting at him. Jax was a great main character. Overall, I really liked it, and can’t wait to read the next 2. The story doesn’t quite reach noir status, but it crouscant feel more like a mystery than an adventure novel.

Apr 21, Darryl Dobbs rated it really liked it. Reaves introduces Dejah, the partner to the murdered artist, as a third point in a love triangle that didn’t even exist in the first book. There’s a LITTLE Jedi detective flavor in this book sort of like a packet of Sugar dropped into a gallon of coffee so don’t think, if you pick it up that you’re going to be reading this cool detective novel set in the Star Wars Universe.
