But overall this book is forgettable, and although I enjoyed it I just expected a little more. But overal After I finished the last page of the book and closed it However, towards the end I found it to be a little slow-moving. She is also struggling to understand how her personal relationships are failing.
It is a penetrating portrayal of people valeerie and a suspenseful story of four characters on a fiery collision course.

I read this book like 8 years ago. Several characters’ lives entwine in unexpected ways Stuart can’t handle the stress and Kate’s full attention to the house she wants to remodel, so he leaves.
Houde About Dream House. I think it’s this disappointment that initially made me find it difficult to really become grabbed by the story. There aren’t that many truly unique plots or characters out there.
I am terrible at this. This is a story of the ghosts of one’s past, dealing with those ghosts and coming to terms with yourself, but most importantly it’s about finding a place to call home.

An amazing first book by this author. Just seven years out of college, Kate and Stuart purchase the house with the best of intentions, hoping that deeam will somehow help rejuvenate the insecure threads of their marriage.

Now everything I just typed could be the exact opposite of what Valerie Laken was trying to get across in her beautifully written book, but it’s what I took away from it and I’m very happy that I was given the chance to read it. Instead they drwam that their home was the scene of a terrible crime many years ago – a revelation that tips the balance of their precarious union.

This book was wonderfully written, with the plot unfolding at just the right pace.
