I looked at all the stories and trilogies and remembered Elminster being mentioned, in the Drizzt books, every once in a while. I would recommend this novel to all who enjoy Fantasy and novels set in the Forgotten Realms. The book for me really didn’t have any slow or dry passages; it was fun and good from beginning to end. I trudged through it because it seemed important to read, considering it’s the origins of one of the most powerful characters in the Realms. But for Aedan, a scruffy young adventurer with veins full of fire and a head full of ideas, this officer is not what he seems.

That series about the barbarian Sunbright, the Elmnster Lords Karsus, Pollaris, and all of those, and the mere underling archmages Candlemass and Sysquemalyn was way better. An All-Star Cast Length: Although I found moments in this story enjoyable, it was riddled with confusing descriptions of scenes that I just didn’t feel like going over again.
