He tries to follow, but Innocet tries to stop him, determined to protect her family from him. Family members were often mentioned in continuity where looming was included.

Meanwhile, Chris Cwej is having strange dreams of the past, when the family cast the Doctor out. This is a really good book and good sci-fi, even for those readers who aren’t Doctor Who fans.

Jumps between scenes were confusing when they didn’t need to be. As a final act the Pythia cursed the Time Lords to sterility. But when the TARDIS receives the recall message telling it to bring the Doctor home, it seems to interpret the message a bit too literally.
And the beleaguered Lord President, Romanadvoratrelundar, foresees one of the most tumultuous events in her planet history. The doctor is all, no really, who the hell are you?? A great end to the New Adventures, as the Doctor returns to Gallifrey, revealing numerous secrets of his past. While it is a murder mystery with the Doctor and his companion Chris seeking to prove the Doctor’s innocence, there is also a conspiracy story unfolding on Gallifrey with Romama, Leela, and Ace as the Celestial Intervention Agency puts some plans into motion of their own which also include the Doctor’s past.
She has never forgiven the Doctor for squandering his talents on a mere Doctorate after all the effort and funding that Quences had put into his education. It meant I could see what earlier scenes were implying that I might hav I first read this when it came out and I was following the New Adventures. Now so much of the background it lays out for the Doctor has been thoroughly contradicted, you can enjoy it for the masterful piece of writing it is, rather than as a controversial retcon of Doctor Who’s entire mythology.

Of course, this story does ffree outside of established continuity and so it may be taking some creative license. Leela and Romana have become friends. Is it worth that chunk of your money? However, the story could be difficult to follow at times.
